Begin your tour by meeting your guide at the north end of Fisherman’s Wharf and taking in the breathtaking views of the water, Golden Gate Bridge, and Alcatraz.
Learn how gold fever swept the country in 1849, transforming San Francisco from a peaceful town to a flourishing port city, and the origin story of Ghirardelli Square. Check out the vendors offering specialties like crab and clam chowder in sourdough bread bowls as we travel along the foggy shoreline.
A portion of the ancient Barbary Coast trail will be walked. Then it’s on to Pier 39 to witness the antique ships and the sea lion population that has taken up residence on the docks. As you walk along the Embarcadero Promenade, you’ll learn more about the famed Alcatraz and how it’s more than simply a jail.
If you’ve upgraded to the Golden Gate Bay Cruise, your guide will show you how to locate your boat, from which you’ll set sail for close-up views of the Golden Gate Bridge and spectacular panoramas of the San Francisco skyline.

FAQs
Is there a lot of walking involved?
A mile of moderate walking is included in our tour of Fisherman’s Wharf. Please ask for a private tour if mobility is a concern.
What are our options in Sausalito?
There’s so much to do in this city across the bay if you choose our Sausalito upgrade. While strolling around the shoreline, admire the colorful houseboats. Take a break for lunch or go shopping in the stylish stores. Take the ferry back to Fisherman’s Wharf when you’re ready. Another excellent opportunity to photograph the bay and skyline is on the ferry ride. We recommend allowing two hours to explore Sausalito because the travel is around 25 minutes each way.
Is it possible to do both upgrades?
Sure! However, you should do them on different days. After your Fisherman’s Wharf tour, take a Golden Gate Bay Cruise or a ferry to Sausalito. Then put your ticket for the other upgrade aside for an other day. Don’t be afraid to ask your guide for advice on how to plan your trips.
Will we be able to see Alcatraz?
While your guide will talk about Alcatraz on the tour as we see it from afar, we recommend our Fisherman’s Wharf Walking Tour with Alcatraz Ticket if you want to visit the island and tour this famous monument.
What is the policy on rescheduling?
We are aware that plans can be altered. You have the option to change your tour up to 24 hours before to departure. Up to 24 hours prior to the commencement of your tour, you can get a full refund. We would have incurred hard expenditures within 24 hours of your excursion, so we are unable to enable free rescheduling or cancellation.
What if it starts to rain?
Our tours go on rain or shine, so check the weather forecast before you go. If we have to cancel due to severe weather, we will give you the option to reschedule or receive a full refund.
Are gratuities included in the price?
Tips are always welcome, but they are never expected. They’re an excellent way to express your gratitude and tell your guide that they did a fantastic job.
